
College Essay Workshop
Class of 2026 Seniors are invited to attend a three (optional four)-session essay-writing workshop. Get inspired, draft an essay, edit and critique it in class with peers and the instructor. Get your essay done before school starts!
Instructor: Kristin Gora, AP English Literature and Composition Teacher
Cost: $60 (waiver available)
Bring your college application essay prompts to the class! Most essay prompts can be found on applications available during the summer on-line at university and college websites.
3 Session Times are available:
#1: 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. OR
#2: 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. OR
#3: 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Session One: Monday, June 9th, at Eastern High School (Classroom #B218)
Analyze samples and brainstorm topics
Session 1.5: Tuesday, June 10th (Optional Zoom)
10 min conference for guided topic selection
Session Two: Wednesday, June 11th, at Eastern High School (Classroom #B218)
Refine writing style and mechanics
Session Three: Thursday-Friday (June 12th and June 13)
One-on-One Editing Sessions - Appointments only, students will sign up for an appointment in class
Individual 20 minute editing session in person or Zoom with Ms. Gora to review and critique drafts or a completed essay
